PE

Reception: Our PE sessions will be on a Friday and we will be practicing and developing our fundamental skills. There will also be a range of activities on offer each day to develop their gross moto skills (e.g. balls, scooters) and fine motor skills (e.g. threading, dough). We will also have continued access to our outdoor area. 

Year 1: Our PE session will be on Monday. 

Please ensure children come to school with their correct PE kits in a suitable bag. Children need both indoor and outdoor clothing and footwear in order for us to benefit fully from our PE Lessons. Please ensure long hair is tied up and jewellery removed. If your child cannot remove their own ear studs, please ensure you take them out on the day. 

Reading 

At Brown's, the teaching of reading is at the very core of our curriculum.  Our main aim is to ensure that every child becomes a confident, fluent reader who develops a love of reading. The sharing of stories is central to our provision throughout the school and we read regularly with the children in Buttercups class.

Please listen to your child read 3 times a week. This can be them sharing their book bag book or you reading a story to them. Please log their activity in their reading log. It is important for the children to bring in their reading folder each day in order to keep their books updated.
