EYFS Buttercups Curriculum
Brown's Buttercups Early Years Foundation Stage
Our Early Years Curriculum Intent
At Brown’s Buttercups, our curriculum design is creative, inspiring, challenging and memorable with the aim to enable all children to reach their potential, regardless of background, circumstance or need. Our curriculum recognises the importance of building strong foundations at an early age rooted in personal, social and emotional well-being, communication and language and physical development which opens the door to developing knowledge, skills, understanding and progression in all other areas of the curriculum.
Working in partnership with parents, we are proud to have designed a curriculum that reflects the background and experiences of our children and therefore is relevant and accessible to all. Through providing the cultural capital we know our children need, we aim to equip them with the skills needed to be successful, confident, life-long learners who are able to experience all the world has to offer them. Within our curriculum offer, we recognise the need for flexibility so that it can evolve to meet the needs, interests and passions of our children as well as the ever-changing world we live in. Ongoing development of staff knowledge and expertise via timely and high quality continuing professional development and involvement of outside agencies, ensures that learning can be tailored to meet all children’s needs.
Our core Christian values; Hope, Peace, Compassion, Forgiveness, Courage and Friendship shape how we behave, what we say, how we build relationships and how we learn. They are incorporated in every aspect of life in Brown’s Buttercups. Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome the differences within our school community, our local community as well as communities beyond our locality.
